At last biodegradable PLA plastic capsules retain the coffee aroma perfectly - a Swiss partnership has made this possible
The good quality of PLA (biodegradable plastic) coffee capsules attracted a lot of interest at NP 2018 on the Switzerland Global Enterprise joint stand. The system was jointly developed by Swiss partners Netstal, Fostag, Beck and IMD and presented to the North American market for the first time at NPE 2018. IMD contributed a complete range of products to this system – both with and without decoration and/or barrier layer. The IMDvista BTIR inline inspection system checks labels and barrier layers without stopping. This is the kind of quality control that customers require these days.

The high-tech solution developed by partners Netstal (injection moulding machine), Fostag (tool), Beck (automation & IML) and IMD (camera inspection system) uses the option of multilayer technology and, thanks to their joint know-how, they have achieved the highest levels of quality and efficiency.
